The Argument Against Obama

The folks over at Hot Air have assembled a compendium of the arguments against an Obama Presidency with supporting video. If nothing else, their service allows me to memorialize a big fat "I told you so" should he be elected along with a Reid/Pelosi congress:

The Plumber and The Nurse

Joe the Plumber has become a reluctant symbol of Obama's dedication to the leftist goal of government forced "fairness". If Joe works too hard and takes too many successful risks, then it's only right that Joe "give back" some of his money for The One to spread around to his grateful subjects, less the government's cut of the loot of course.

One person Obama would give Joe's money to is the less known symbol of political charity: Hannah, The Nursing Student.

At another campaign stop, Obama had this encounter:

BARACK OBAMA: How much, how much you in debt?

HANNAH: Yeah I need it because the grants aren't enough.
OBAMA HUGGING STUDENT: I know, I know! I appreciate it, c'mon. Nice to meet you.
HANNAH: Thank you.

Did Obama wonder if she had any responsibility for her plight or what she might be able to do for herself in order to further her career? No, of course not. That would mean one less victim, one less malleable dependent, one less vote. The grants (gifts) taken from her fellow citizens "isn't enough".

It's also much easier for her to hire Obama to put a gun to Joe's head and take his money by force of law than do it herself and risk jail. Besides, she needs it more than Joe even if it is his property. He can "afford' it because the anointed tell us so.

It doesn't matter if Joe will have less for his family, employees or business because he not only made "too much" money, he did it without pledging loyalty to The Party, as Hannah most assuredly will. The fact that Hannah has done nothing to earn the right to Joe's money is irrelevant since Obama has determined that she needs it more than he does.

Obama also doesn't wonder why Hannah's tuition is so high and has been rising much faster than the rate of inflation longer than anyone can remember. The education system is also protected by The Democrat Party and will never be called on the congressional carpet to explain themselves. That kangaroo court is reserved for capitalists. It would be counterproductive anyway since a lot of Joe's money already goes to these leftist incubators in order to create more Hannahs.

Obama's leftist philosophy is not about compassion or concern for the downtrodden. If it were, he and his running mate would have given more of their money to private charity than the miserly amounts they've given.

But charitable giving doesn't return the benefit of control over the recipient's lives. And it competes for funds with the politically motivated charity of the state. In short, it's about power. The forceful sacrifice of the individual to tyrants that use stolen property and force to mold the populace to their liking.

Obama and the Democrats don't believe they are taking Joe's money since they never considered it his to begin with. The only money he has is that which the government allows him to keep. Question: What do we call it when someone is forced to work for another's benefit? You know the answer.

The Obamamedia has their panties in a knot over allegedly out of control Mc'Cain/Palin supporters. On the flimsiest of evidence, MSM reporters breathlessly fret that the Republican candidates are fomenting violence by merely campaigning against The One. Nothing compares however to the barbarism that is visited on the left's opponents and we can see it even on Obama's community blog.

Presidential Job Requirements

Obama evidently thinks computer literacy is necessary to be President, as if creating Power Point presentations and typing are things the leader of the free world should be doing with his time. As a former fighter pilot, Mc'Cain has more technological skill sets than Obama ever will and could learn how to use HotMail in about five minutes if he felt the need.

On the other hand, Obama's friendship with William Ayers alone would disqualify him to be hired as an FBI agent or any other sensitive government position. His other Anti-American and criminal associations would probably subject Obama to a follow up investigation after he was turned down for the job.

The World Votes For Obama

Should we care what the world thinks about our presidential candidates?

The latest data come courtesy of the BBC, which commissioned a survey of 23,531 people in 22 countries for their views about the U.S. election. The not-so-astounding result: Barack Obama is the favorite in all 22 countries.

The answer is yes and it's all the more reason we should elect Mc'Cain. The rest of the world answers that question based on their interests, not ours. And it's obvious they would like to see us weaker and more like them, especially in Europe, where resentment of America has more to do with embarrassment over their own inadequacies and feelings of schadenfreude than anything we've done. Who they would call when there's trouble with say, Russia or Iran, doesn't seem to occur to the continent that gave us Hitler, Stalin and Marx.

"Consider another global survey, this one from the University of Maryland-based WorldPublicOpinion.org, concerning the perpetrators of 9/11. Out of the 17 countries surveyed, majorities in only nine of them believed that al Qaeda was responsible for the attacks. Obama Futures Continue Slide, Mc'Cain Gains

We capitalists always trust the judgment of people who have their own money at risk rather than opinions that carry no consequences. As a follow up to my pre-convention post of Intrade prices, it seems my predictions are coming true.

Grasping at Straws

There's so many left wing pundits sputtering inanities over the Palin pick that it's hard to choose which to tear apart. Jonathon Alter makes that choice easy. Alter is a hall of fame snob who perfectly illustrates the true colors of a desperate Washington elite:

Hillary Clinton also won 18 million votes and Obama had to be dragged over the finish line by you and your MSM buddies. Obama's fluency ends when the teleprompter is off and he's only done one tough interview at Saddleback that he failed miserably. The rest have been softball games and love fests.

Only 20 months as Governor? Well that's 20 months more than Obama or Biden. As a native of Brooklyn, I can tell you that any decisions she made as Governor have far more world importance than what's going on in Bensonhurst. Alaska is also the largest state in the Union (geographically), supplies 20% of our oil (and a lot of fish), has more coastline than all other states combined and is within spitting distance of Russia.

When faced with the obvious question—"So does that mean that Palin is more qualified than McCain, who has never been an executive?"— Republicans (working from talking points) have an answer. McCain commanded a training squadron in Florida in 1976 (the fact that he was not promoted to flag rank afterwards doesn't get mentioned).

At least he had an executive position to not get promoted from. And a life and death one at that. Should we now promote two guys with no executive experience to the most powerful positions in the world?

The Republicans were speaking from talking points? Oh, the horror! That's unprecedented!

It will be up to the press and public to raise enough of a stink about this, that Palin is forced to submit to real interviews with real questions that show whether her real-life experience is any preparation for assuming high office. In that sense, the Palin nomination is as much of a test of us as it is of her.

Oh, now you're calling for real journalism. Please show us the column where you expressed such misgivings about Obama. By trying to denigrate Palin's limited experience, all you're doing is highlighting the fact that Obama has none to speak of. At least none that he wants to talk about with any honesty.

Cult of Obama Gets Hit by Reality

The left is starting to get worried over their presidential chances and they should:

Look for a dead cat bounce after Denver. The electorate never forgot about Obama's radical associations and activities despite Democrats and the MSM's attempts to sweep them under the rug. Excuses and logical fallacies only work when your audience is as stupid and lacking in common sense as you think they are. That's why the polls have been so close for so long.

Additionally, Obama's penchant for qualifying every pro-American statement with a regurgitation of the radical chic notion of unique and worlwide American evil and guilt doesn't travel well beyond the confines of Chicago's salons.


Mc'Cain is pulling even as voters are starting to see that Obama really is as vapid and insubstantial as Paris Hilton. His disastrous appearance at Saddleback is just a preview of more train wrecks to come.


Now that Obama's teetering, watch for the Clintons to push him over the edge. His "peace in our time" failure to recognize his enemies by giving them three nights of prime time in the interest of "unity" reveals a naivete that could get us all killed if he were President.


Anyone who's been paying attention for the last twenty years knows that the Clinton's are the most ruthless and ambitious tag team in modern politics. And they're experts at not leaving fingerprints on their hits and have perfected the art of plausible denial. There is no way they're going to just pass the baton and cheer him on.


The huge Mass Obama plans for his coronation will more than likely come off as a caricature and a confirmation of Mc'Cain's ads. Having wild eyed lunatic and hypocrite Al Gore as the opening act isn't going to help. Thrown in the moonbat protesters along with the scary cult that has sprung up around him and you have a recipe for an epic flame out.

Obama Investments Losing Value, Mc'Cain Gains

The evil speculators over at InTrade bid down Obama by more than 10% over the last month and have bumped Mc'Cain. Obama's price is still much higher, but the folks who risk real money on these things are obviously seeing some warts on The One. The post-convention trading will be interesting. Stay tuned.

Washington Post Scolds McCain For Telling the Truth

The Folks at WAPO have their panties in a bunch over McCain's statement that Obama "would rather lose a war than lose a campaign,". The Post whines that "It's one thing to say Mr. Obama is wrong. It's another to accuse him of putting political self-interest over country. This is not the "politics of civility" that Mr. McCain was promising as recently as last month."

Oh please. When has the Post or anyone else heard Obama even use the word "win" when describing his Iraq policy, whatever that is, unless he was forced to. He and his party, including the Nutroots and Obama's radical chic circle of friends have made it abundantly clear that they couldn't give a rip if we won in Iraq or anywhere else for that matter. Obama is conveniently straddling the issue now, but throughout the primaries and before, his mantra was to get out at any cost and damn the consequences. He's even said that he stiil wouldn't have voted for the surge, despite its success. Does the Post really believe we forgot all that or that it doesn't matter?

We also haven't forgotten the Democrat Party's defeatist, "we should lose because we suck" attitude of the last forty years.

It was Democrats who refused to fund the Vietnam War after the North broke the peace treaty. We lost and 3 million Vietnamese, Cambodians and Laotians were slaughtered. They would be happy to repeat that shame in Iraq if they could, although this time the death toll would be much higher. Hey, what's a little genocide compared to the Democrat party's divine agenda?

It was Democrats who fought Reagan every step of the way in the Cold War. They voted against just about every weapon system in use today, including the Stealth Fighter, Patriot Missile, etc., etc. Democrats derided Reagan as a war mongering dope as they played footsie with our enemies from Managua to Moscow. Democrats not only didn't think we could beat the Soviets, they didn't want us to. And they are sorry we did.

The first Gulf War almost didn't happen because of Democrat opposition. They would have rather left the Kuwaitis and their oil in the hands of a brutal madman, eyeing Saudi Arabia as his next target. At least Al Gore voted for it after trading his support in order to get his mug on prime time TV.

The Washington Post should spare us the lectures on civility. Their ever present double standard and denial of the truth certainly isn't surprising. But it sure is getting old.

McCain to Fannie Mae: Go Away

In the rush to bulldoze the Fannie Mae-Freddie Mac and housing bailout bill
through Congress this week, scant attention has been paid in Washington to how
the U.S. system fell into this hole. Thus it was refreshing to see Senator John
McCain step up and speak rude truth to his colleagues about the fiasco in an
op-ed piece this week.

"Americans should be outraged at the latest sweetheart deal in
Washington," the Republican presidential hopeful wrote in the St. Petersburg Times, stating
the clear but all-too-often unspoken reality about this greatest of
boondoggles...

Senator McCain, who wasn't present for the cloture vote, also called for an
end to their multimillion-dollar lobbying campaign. More importantly, he called
for "making them [Fannie and Freddie] go away," as in, be no more. Receivership
may indeed by the only option if a regulator can't get the far-flung activities
of these two under control.

Even if these quasi-socialist entities are brought under control and stabilized, they should be broken up and completely privatized. These two corporations were created at times when the private secondary market was virtually non-existent. That's no longer the case and their mere existence as private profit, public risk ventures distorts the mortgage market and encourages the type of behavior one would expect when someone else pays the consequences for their bad decisions. Additionally, Fannie and Freddie's operations are heavily influenced by the political considerations of congress that prompt them to adopt imprudent policies no truly private company would ever consider.

Many are saying that without Fanny and Freddie, the mortgage and Real Estate markets would have collapsed had they not been there as a backstop, without considering that private markets would have been more conservative had they not been there in the first place. On a basic level, the Federal Government has no moral or constitutional right to be in the mortgage business in the anyway. This disaster proves that it's high time they got the hell out and take taxpayers off the hook.

Get That Feeling Up Your Leg

The McCain camp has grown a set at least temporarily with this video documenting the shameless idol worship of Obama by the media. To call mainstream journalism a profession is an insult to real professionals everywhere. These dupes are as lacking in critical thinking skills as Saint Obama's fanatical followers.

The Times defends its shabby treatment of the presumptive GOP nominee itself with the usual self-serving tripe.

This is my small contribution to doing the job MSM outlets like the New York Times say they do. That is, objective reporting of newsworthy events. The Time's rejection of a presidential candidate's OpEd along with condescending suggestions reminiscent of my most pedantic English teacher is an act of astonishing arrogance and bias. And it's not just David Shipley. Right now he's out in the Hamptons yucking it up with his like-minded buddies over this latest act of journalistic malfeasance. What's really laughable is that the NYT continues to insult our intelligence by touting itself as a the trustworthy "paper of record" What's more funny is that the wine and cheese liberals who run this mess really think they are fair and mainstream, given the Upper West Side echo chamber they live in.

This latest incident left wing is just one of thousands that have been documented over the years and will thankfully contribute to this rag's dwindling circulation.

Obama's logical fallacy on Iraq

So, Obama says he would go back into Iraq after retreat "if Al Qaeda is forming a base in Iraq.” Mc'Cain replies: “I have some news,”...“Al Qaeda is in Iraq. It’s called ‘Al Qaeda in Iraq.’
Good answer. Then the brilliant Obama declares to his acolytes: “There was no such thing as Al Qaeda in Iraq until George Bush and John McCain decided to invade Iraq.”

That is what's known as an irrelevant conclusion, which reveals that the speaker has no argument and in this case, is way over his head.

Shareholders should sue New York Times over McCain Story

Less than a week after the NYT announced 100 job cuts at its failing paper, it publishes a story that fails to meet the journalistic standards of a high-school rag. Shareholder outrage, a plummeting stock price and declining circulation doesn't seem to faze Arthur Sulzberger Jr. and his minions who see a holy mission in left wing advocacy disguised as news. The clueless wine and cheese crowd in the Boston/NY/DC corridor still believes The Times is the "paper of record" and convince the publishers of their relevance as they whistle past the graveyard. In the real world, there are plenty of far more honest brokers of information, including many of the "amateurs" on the internet the media elite like to deride. If the Times is the best example of journalistic professionalism, then it's not much of a profession.
