Democrats and the media can no longer rest on the old rationalization that Blago is an exception to the “we’re cleaner than thou” rule. 2008 was the year of Democratic Reps. William “Cold Cash” Jefferson, Charlie “Sweetheart Deals” Rangel, and former Detroit Mayor Kwame “Text Me” Kilpatrick. It was the year Democratic Massachusetts State Senator Dianne Wilkerson got caught stuffing bribes from an FBI informant down her shirt. It was the year 12 Democratic leaders and staffers in Pennsylvania’s state Capitol were stung in a massive corruption scandal involving cash, sex and abuse of public office. And it was the year of multimillion-dollar embezzlement scandals at Democratic satellite offices of ACORN and the SEIU.

The Democrats have met the culture of corruption, and it looks like it ain’t just elephants among the jackasses soiling public office."

Governor Arrested Over Obama'a Senate Seat

Corruption in Illinois? Say it ain't so!

"The U.S. District Court complaint, which is excerpted below, alleges that Blagojevich was caught on FBI wiretaps noting that the Senate seat "is a fucking valuable thing, you just don't give it away for nothing." He was also recorded saying that unless "I get something real good," he would appoint himself to the vacancy. "I'm going to keep this Senate option for me a real possibility, you know, and therefore I can drive a hard bargain. You hear what I'm saying. And if I don't get what I want and I'm not satisfied with it, then I'll just take the Senate seat myself."

Barack Obama's Lost Years

Barack Obama's neighborhood newspaper, the Hyde Park Herald, has a longstanding tradition of opening its pages to elected officials-from Chicago aldermen to state legislators to U.S. senators. Obama himself, as a state senator, wrote more than 40 columns for the Herald, under the title "Springfield Report," between 1996 and 2004.

What they portray is a Barack Obama sharply at variance with the image of the post-racial, post-ideological, bipartisan, culture-war-shunning politician familiar from current media coverage and purveyed by the Obama campaign. As details of Obama's early political career emerge into the light, his associations with such radical figures as Reverend Jeremiah Wright, Father Michael Pfleger, Reverend James Meeks, Bill Ayers, and Bernardine Dohrn look less like peculiar instances of personal misjudgment and more like intentional political partnerships. At his core, in other words, the politician chronicled here is profoundly race-conscious, exceedingly liberal, free-spending even in the face of looming state budget deficits, and partisan. Elected president, this man would presumably shift the country sharply to the left on all the key issues of the day-culture-war issues included. It's no wonder Obama has passed over his Springfield years in relative silence.

Illinois Legislator Supports Mob Rule

State Rep. Mike Smith wants to double income taxes on 5% of the state's taxpayers by allowing the other 95% to vote it into law. Beyond the fact that this would drive even more of the productive from that state, Mr Smith obviously thinks democracy is about two wolves and a sheep voting on what's for dinner.

Actually, this guy seems to think way too much about dinner and would probably eat all three of them. Maybe we should vote to tax him and his corpulent brethren for eating more than their fair share of food and endangering the planet with the massive amounts of paint-peeling greenhouse gasses they expel every day.

Speaking in support of his plan to take with threat of state force, the property of 107,000 residents for the crime of being successful and productive, Smith said: "I'm not sure who would campaign against this other than those 107,000," And that's why this country was set up as a representative republic and not a direct democracy. To prevent tyranny by the majority. Mr. Smith should ask for a refund on his poly-sci degree.

Or maybe he should just quit and get a real job for once in his life. Perhaps he'll realize how hard it is to make money when you can't put a gun to people's heads.
